Our annual Spring Tag Days are coming up on 19-21 Apr 2013. It is a MANDATORY requirement that each cadet attend a minimum of 3 SHIFTS. Sign-Ups will be done starting 27 Mar 13 during the training night. This will provide cadets at least 1 month to sign-up for their shift. Shift times for each day are listed below:
Friday 19 Apr 13: 5PM - 9PM
Saturday 20 Apr 13 (Morning): 9AM - 1:30PM
Saturday 20 Apr 13 (Afternoon): 1:30PM - 6PM
Sunday 21 Apr 13 (Morning): 9AM - 1:30PM
Sunday 21 Apr 13 (Afternoon): 1:30PM - 6PM
All cadets are to meet at Randall Public School (Contact Us) for their shifts. The dress for all cadets will be C2 (Full Dress - No medals). For those cadets without a uniform, they are to wear their regular training night attire (White dress shirt, black tie, black dress pants and shoes).
Tag Days are the main fundraising event for the cadet program. All the money raised goes directly to the cadets and the cadet program in support of different activities and needs. Examples of what the fund-raised money goes towards are:
- Maintaining & Repairing the various Air Cadet aircraft we have
- Yearbooks
- Awards and Retirement Gifts
- Trips
- New Training Equipment
- Band Maintenance
- Bus Rentals for things like Sports and T.A.G (Toronto Air Group) events
- Squadron gear
Without the success of this fundraising event, it would not be possible to provide the cadets in the program the many opportunities that they can receive. Every cadet is provided with these opportunities and are expected to do their part in making it possible.
For Parents: You can also have a major role in supporting this event! There is always a need for volunteer drivers to drive our cadets to and from locations for each shift and also to help out with other needs. If you are interested in being a volunteer driver for the Spring 2013 Tag Days, please speak to one of the 883 Sponsoring committee members on Wednesday nights. Please note that you are required to provide a valid driver's licence and valid insurance coverage. There will be Volunteer Driver Forms handed out closer to the Tag Days.
